About Travesía Sagrada Maya
It is a ritual that dates back to the period from 1250 to 1519 AD, where knowledge of navigation and commercial maritime routes of the ancient Maya, whose central character is Ixchel, the Mayan goddess of the moon, tides, fertility, are conjoined the childbirth, medicine and pregnancy, for whom crossing the sea to bring offerings and receive the divine message to their communities. Come and recreates this ancient tradition that performed the Maya: The Pilgrimage to the goddess Ixchel. The crossing takes place from Pole (Xcaret) to the island of Kuzamil (Cozumel).
