About San Jose Parish

Opposite the main square of Cuatro Ciénegas, is this neoclassical parish that was built in the early nineteenth century. What is interesting about its construction is that it was made with stones from the chalky structures of stromatolites, even in some interior walls there are certain cavities that are believed to be where they lived. The altar is dedicated to Saint Joseph, the patron saint of the town.
