About Mining Museum
Having founded El Oro in 1772 when veins of this metal were discovered in the area, its mines became the second richest in the world, generating a great movement in the region that reached its peak in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Through photographs, plans and documents, this museum will tell you the mining history of the region. The winch, compressors and offices where miners were paid are also preserved.
