About Xtacumbilxunaan Grottoes
Its name means "place of the hidden woman" and was a sacred space for the Maya. The caves with an extension of 200 meters, have impressive formations of stalagmites and stalactites. From "The balcony of the witch" you can see a vault with a hole through which the light enters. It is worth it to attend the light and sound show that takes place from Tuesday to Sunday.
How to get?
Take Highway 261 towards Holpechén and then towards Bolonchén at kilometer 117 is the detour to the caves.
It is best to rent a car to get to the place or hire an operator to perform the tour to the caves.
