About Hacienda San José Carpizo

Founded in 1871, it was a cattle ranch and henequenera becoming one of the most important of the peninsula. Although it is now abandoned, the complex still retains the main house, the chapel, the machine room, as well as its blacksmithing and carpentry. Its neoclassical style is typical of the constructions of this type of places and has peculiar decorations on its facade, where imported blue mosaics are used.
