About Proaño Mine
This mine has been worked for almost five centuries, since 1961 by the Peñoles Group, and is one of the largest silver producing mines in the world. Although only a part of this place to visit is open to be visited, it is a great experience to go through the underground tunnels that have been worked over so many years. The tour ends at a viewpoint from where you can see the entire city of Fresnillo.
