About Revolution Monument
Emblematic building located on the Place de la Republique. The first stone of this building was laid in 1910, although its iron structure originally was destined for the building of the Legislative Palace. Time after built the monument was converted into a mausoleum where even today the remains of several revolutionary; and in 1986 it was built in his basement a museum that presents 50 years of the history of Mexico. Currently the monument also houses this museum, an elevator to go up to the viewpoints that offer spectacular panoramic views, plus a café and a shop. In the large space surrounding it, called Plaza of the Republic, various cultural activities over the weekend are made. A perfect place to contemplate the city, the surrounding buildings and the Centennial Fountain with its famous play of light throughout the night.
