About San Juan de Ulua Fort
The construction of this fort is closely linked to the foundation of the city, on April 22, 1519. It is considered one of the main tourist places to visit in the Port of Veracruz. It is located on the small island in front of the port, it worked as a shelter and dock for the galleons that arrived from Spain and also to defend the city from pirate attacks. He also had a brief period as a prison. Now it is a museum whose pieces and walls will tell you an important part of the history not only of Veracruz, but of all of Mexico.
