About The Soconusco Archaeological Museum

The place where this museum is the area that was destined to Penitentiary Municipal Palace of Tapachula. Its aim is to show part of the pre-Hispanic history of the region, from its first settlers.
With that in mind, you will see several pieces from different archaeological sites in the region, mainly Izapa Stela 25 highlighting and a skull with gold plated encrusted with turquoise.
