Founded in 1728 by Jesuit Juan Bautista Luyando, it became the most flourishing mission on the peninsula. It is also considered one of the most beautiful in the region with its carved stone facade, the stone pilasters that frame the door and its mixtilinear arch. Inside, the main altarpiece that is dedicated to Saint Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Jesuit order, is still preserved.
