Also known as MASIN, it is housed in one of the oldest buildings in Culiacan and dating from the early nineteenth century. Since its inception and until 1990, it was used by various government agencies. In 1991 it opens its doors as a museum and now more than 400 pieces of art are exhibited.
Among them are works of Pedro Coronel, Rufino Tamayo, Jose Luis Cuevas, Dr. Atl and others, including a 1906 self-portrait by Diego Rivera.
