About Swim with Whale Sharks
Live an unparalleled experience swimming alongside the “docile giants of the sea”, the Whale Shark. Don't be put off by the name of this huge fish, as it is one of the calmest and most friendly inhabitants of the oceans. The seas of northern Mexico are another of the favorite places for the Whale Shark, and in destinations such as La Paz, Cabo San Lucas and the Cabo Pulmo National Park, you will find everything you need to dive alongside them.
The season to spot and swim with the largest fish in the world in the seas of Baja California Sur, rich in plankton, their favorite food, is from mid-November to the end of May.
Because it is an endangered species and for your safety, you must hire the services of one of the operators specialized in carrying out this practice. Remember that when visiting them you must respect their habitat and not disturb them, so we suggest you follow these recommendations:
• Keep a distance of at least 1.5 meters.
• Do not touch them, hold them and much less ride on them.
• Use biodegradable sunscreen.
• Carry out this activity in places with operators with duly certified permission.
