About Zocalo (Main Square) and Surroundings
The Constitution Square, known informally as Zócalo, was built on what was once the epicenter of Tenochtitlan. Today just walk a few steps, you can go from the imposing cathedral to the exposed parts of the Templo Mayor, surrounded by other architectural jewels such as the Palacio de Mineria, National Museum of Art, National Palace, Church of Santo Domingo, Postal Palace, Palace of Fine Arts, Palacio de Iturbide and Estanquillo Museum, among others. Its surrounding streets are lined with restaurants, shops and hotels.
