About Tonatico
A typically colonial town, when walking through its streets it will seem that time has not passed. Its name, coming from Nahuatl, means “place of the sun” since they said that the sun was born there. The place enjoys great beauty to be surrounded by greenery, and in its picturesque center you can see the Church of Our Lady of Tonatico dating from the seventeenth century. Very close there are the Grottoes of the Star and the Park of the Sun.
