In a tribute to one of the heroes of the Independence, this monument was erected to Juan José Martínez, better known as El Pípila, in 1939. Located in a 360º viewpoint where you can see beautiful views of the city of Guanajuato, the statue is made of pink quarry and has the inscription "... there are still other alhóndigas to burn".
