Where to go at Celestún
The Tourist Guide of Celestún
This paradisiacal destination is one of the only two places in Mexico where you will find thousands of pink flamingos in the Biosphere Reserve Ría Celestún. Here you can enjoy a vast natural area, where it is easier to meet beautiful birds than human beings. It also has a great diversity of ecosystems such as mangroves, lagoons, beaches with turquoise waters and an estuary (we are not mistaken, it is an estuary, which is a sea inlet, where fresh and salt water meet) which we recommend you visit in boat. Thanks to the diversity of its ecosystem, in addition to flamingos, you can observe turtles, crocodiles, herons, spider monkeys and perhaps even a jaguar. After a tour of the mangroves or the reserve, enjoy a delicious meal with ingredients from the region. Staying in one of its Hotels facing the sea will give you a wonderful starry night.
