Swim with Whale Sharks
Enjoy an unparalleled experience swimming alongside the "gentle giants of the sea," the whale shark. Don't be fooled by the name of this enormous fish, as it is one of the ocean's most peaceful and friendly inhabitants. The seas of northern Mexico are another favorite haunt for whale sharks, and in destinations like La Paz, Los Cabos, and Cabo Pulmo National Park, you'll find everything you need to dive alongside them.
The season to see and swim with the world's largest fish in the seas of Baja California Sur , rich in plankton, its favorite food, is from mid-November to the end of May.
Because this is an endangered species, and for your safety, you should hire the services of one of the operators specialized in this practice. Remember that when visiting them, you must respect their habitat and not disturb them. Therefore, we suggest following these recommendations:
• Stay at least 1.5 meters away.
• Do not touch them, hold them, or ride on them.
• Use biodegradable sunscreen.
• Carry out this activity in locations with duly certified operators.
