About Mission of San Francisco de Borja de Adac
The mission is one of the most visited places to visit near Bahia de los Angeles because of its importance. It was built by Jesuit missionaries in the 18th century in a region that the Cochimies called Ádac, a place name whose meaning is likely to be Mezquite or Mezquites Place. It was the missionaries of the order of the Dominicans who rebuilt it in quarry. At one time it was abandoned and plundered, but nowadays it is open and receives the visit of travelers and locals.
